E*TRADE Securities
Executed one of Japan's largest block trades of E*TRADE Securities (now SBI Securities) shares held by a fund managed by Goldman Sachs.
I joined Nomura Securities in 1974, Morgan Stanley in 1983, and CS First Boston (later Credit Suisse, now UBS) in 1988, before establishing my own firm in 1996. For over half a century, I have remained at the forefront of investment banking.
Examples of failed cross-border M&As by Japanese companies are, regrettably, too numerous to count. The principal cause, in my view, lies in accepting advice from major global investment banks and securities firms without adequate scrutiny. As an independent M&A boutique, our mission is to provide neutral and objective advice to our clients in their M&A decision-making.
In October 2008, I co-founded Global Alliance Partners (GAP) in Hong Kong, an international cross-border M&A alliance, and currently serve as Japan Representative. Through GAP member firms, we obtain reliable, real-time information from local markets across the globe. We deliver on-the-ground intelligence, critical in cross-border M&As, to our clients via the most direct route.
We hope our half-century of investment banking experience and the intelligence network of GAP will help support sound decision-making in your corporate and M&A strategies.
